Redmi 8A comes with a new design as compared to the previous generation Redmi 7A. The phone sports the Aura Wave Design, which as the name suggests will offer better grip to the users, and it will be available in three colour variants which include Ocean blue,red and Midnight black colour options.

As for the display, the Redmi 8A features a 6.22-inch IPS LCD display rendering a 720×1520 pixel resolution and 271ppi pixel density. The display is a 19:9 aspect ratio screen & on the top of it, the phone has minimal bezels as compared to the previous generation Redmi 7A.

Redmi 8A packs the Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 SoC which consists of 1.95 GHz, Quad-core Cortex A53 cores combined with 1.45 GHz, Quad-core, Cortex A53. This chipset is paired with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage on the device. Users can also expand the storage to up to 512GB using a microSD card. 

The phone also comes with a massive battery which is the largest till now in any Redmi A series phone. The Redmi 8A packs a 5000mAh unit and it supports 18W fast charging. Also, the phone comes with a USB Type-C port which is another first for the Redmi A series.

Redmi 8A sports a single camera sensor on the rear side which is a 12MP Sony IMX363 shooter with f/1.8 aperture and on the front, the device sports an 8MP selfie camera. On the software front, the Redmi 8A boots the Android 9 Pie out of the box with MIUI.

Connectivity options on the Redmi 8A include dual SIM support, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and USB Type-C port. The smartphone has a 2+1 SIM slot for microSD card which supports up to 512GB storage. Redmi 8A is also splash proof with P2i coating and comes with wireless FM radio support.

Xiaomi has announced that the Redmi 8A comes with a Rs 6,499 price for the 2GB RAM and 32GB storage variant and Rs 6,999 for the 3GB RAM and 32GB storage.
